one day it started this the serious part
when did the fun end a day at the park
as a matter of fact it strikes me curiously
i knew this day would come eventually

a shoulder to cry on that's so far away
just one more minute i've got something to say

there's so many faces i could never count
and all the memories i forgot about
i guess goodbye takes up too much time
so many faces now left behind

a look of assurance and an understanding stare
i never knew that there was this much loss to bare

everything's happy everything is ok
what more is needed than a sunny day
what's missed is there is so much more to say
those words assurance empathy and i care

there are places to see
and people to meet
a thousand opportunities
at my feet

and i'm sad
