I built a wall
and fortified it
Piled up everything I'd want
and boarded up the door

To keep them out
They'll never find me
Keeping the curtains drawn
but there's no window

Shangri-La I found it
I made a list and checked it off
It's my dream to be surrounded
with all my wishful thoughts

Now I've lost the plot
if there ever was one
Tired of these revolving thoughts
Tired of being bored

I never was one for mindless
repetition and senseless chores
Just trying to find comfort in

a lonesome day after an empty day
a simple day after a lonesome day
a passing day after a simple day
and another day and another day
