the trees are shaking
the rain is puddling
the valley is beginning to flood
the water is rising
the lights went out and
the valley is beginning to move
it could have been worse
the wind could have beaten us to death
it should have given us
the means to wash away the old way
and find a new day
the trailer's rocking
is never ending
the neighbors are on holiday
i can't sleep for
fear of missing
something, i'm lying awake
we need to find a way
to thank the gulf states
for providing a pathway
nothing is safe
